Designed Acoustics was retained as the Acoustical Consultant for their renovation. As it is with many old churches it is important to preserve the original look of such a Sanctuary. However, as is the case with many of these types of churchs with high ceilings and mostly hard surfaces they tend to have long unwanted reverberation time (RT) resulting in poor speech intelligibility. It was our task to find treatments that would solves these issues and work closely with the architect in order to find the appropriate placements of any such treatment.
Designed Acoustics Scope of Work:
On-site acoustical measurements were taken and digitally recorded.
Acoustical analysis for the appropriate amounts of absorption and diffusion.
Coordination meetings with architect and church team members to review placement of acoustical treatment.
